This recording of this song has been a labour of love to honour our friend, mentor and collegue, Jerry Granelli.

Recorded over several years and spanning several versions, this recording project started with Alan Syliboy learning that one of his favourite songs from his youth was recorded by one of his later good friends, the incomparable Jerry Granelli. Jerry then recounted how recording this song in 1965 was a defining moment in his career, and the first major hit that he played drums on before his iconic Peanuts sessions with Vince Guraldi. Determined to bring this full-circle, the Thundermakers recorded Jerry’s drums in 2018, but the vocal arrangements proved elusive until bringing in guest vocal arranger and keyboardist Doris Mason, and then the song really began to sound both like the original and the inimitable Thundermakers.
